J.K. Mertz Guitar Academy
Established in 2013 in Sicily, the J.K. Mertz Guitar Academy is an innovative higher music education centre dedicated to delivering a broad, well-rounded educational offer.
Over the years, it has evolved into a fully digital Web Academy, establishing itself as a benchmark in high-level musical training.
The Academy specialises in postgraduate specialization programmes and international mobility.
In 2019, it officially became a certified European host enterprise for Erasmus+ students in the music sector, in direct partnership with the European Institute for Training and Research “EProjectConsult”.
Performance Coaching & Mental Training
Alongside traditional music education, Carmelo and Carmen offer specialised coaching programmes designed to unlock each student’s full artistic potential.
As certified NLP Practitioners licensed by The Society of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (Richard Bandler & John La Valle) — Carmen Zangarà (Practitioner No. 135993) and Carmelo Imbesi (Practitioner No. 135998) — they combine the principles of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and neuroscience with advanced instrumental pedagogy.
Their coaching is tailored for musicians and performers seeking to master mental preparation, overcome stage fright, prepare for live performance, enhance concentration, optimise study habits, empower artistic expression, and manage performance anxiety.
Additionally, they integrate bodily awareness and postural training to optimise the biomechanical and proprioceptive relationship with the instrument.
